| Enterprise KVM Solution |
Console Management include:
When remote management capabilities are needed for servers
with GUI-based operating systems such as Windows NT or
Windows Server 2003, KVM solutions are the way to go.
In this application, the ability to remotely access the
managed servers is very important, but to have security
and scalability along with it is key, especially for enterprise
environments. KVM solutions use the keyboard, VGA and
mouse interfaces of the managed servers as the low-level
access interface to these systems. The information available
at the server's KVM interface (such as BIOS access, POST
and boot messages) is not accessible through the in-band
network interfaces, which become available only after
the system boot is completed. There are cases when the
in-band network interfaces are not available even after
the system boot is completed (such as after a Windows
Safe Mode boot), making the KVM interface the only
way to remotely manage a GUI-based server in any possible
situation.
