Empowering Industrial Operations through Wireless Communication
Stacker/Reclaimers are widely used in cement, power, steel, and mining industries, where efficient bulk material handling and storage are essential. Stackers receive material from other stockyard equipment via a conveyor network and deposit it into bunkers or stockpiles. Reclaimers, on the other hand, retrieve this material and deliver it to downstream equipment through the same conveyor system.
Accurate and real-time communication of machine status such as the movement and operational state of stackers and reclaimers to the Central Control Room (CCR) is critical for smooth operation. For instance, before starting a reclaimer, the reclaimer yard conveyor must be activated first, and a corresponding start signal must then be sent to the reclaimer. Similarly, the stacker yard conveyor should only be started after the stacker is already running. In this sequence, the stacker sends a "running" signal to the CCR, which then issues a command to start the stacker yard conveyor.
Any delay or miscommunication in this signal exchange can lead to blockages, particularly at the tippler chute, causing potential operational disruptions. Therefore, robust signal interlocking is essential to ensure synchronized equipment operation and to prevent clogging or damage to both machines.
Brij System offers an innovative setup that enables seamless data communication between the two PLC systems using advanced wireless technologies. From there, the communication is further extended via a protocol converter module, ultimately linking to a PLC located in the Central Control Room (CCR) through either a robust fiber optic connection or a dedicated wireless backbone network. This comprehensive solution ensures reliable and efficient control of the Stacker-Reclaimers, even in demanding and dynamic industrial environments.
